    My thought is that it could be time to get a fasting blood sugar test, and explore the possibility of diabetes. Another thought is that many with celiac disease also have thyroid issues, so perhaps discuss your symptoms with your doctor who may order tests to check for these.

    I find it strange that your doctor would instruct you to go gluten-free while at the same time referring you to a gastroenterologist.
